One of Shakespeare’s First Folios. The First Folio is a rare book published in 1623 that contains full versions of Shakespeare’s plays. There are only about 230 First Folio books in existence today, like this one at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Without the First Folio, many of Shakespeare’s plays like Macbeth, The Tempest, and Twelfth Night would have been lost forever.
